Dual-level heavy-duty powered pallet conveyor
for a clean energy future
In the heart of Hefei, Anhui Province, China, ROFA CHINA has implemented a cutting-edge heavy-duty powered pallet conveyor (PPC KB240) for Sungrow ENERGY Storage Technology Co., Ltd., a leading company in the Chinese clean energy industry. The dual-level heavy-duty powered pallet conveyor, with twelve vehicles in continuous operation, transports goods to and from the fully automated high-bay warehouse and provides real-time logistics data.
Precise cycle times and reliable process stability
As a leading company in the industry, the customer emphasizes first-class operation and maintenance services. The focus is on precise control and efficient material flow logistics. To meet this requirement, ROFA CHINA implemented an innovative conveyor solution: a dual-level heavy- duty pallet conveyor (based on the PPC KB240) with a total length of 400 meters, two track switches and twelve heavy-duty vehicles with a 4-strand chain conveyor.
4 ton transport capacity
The implemented conveyor solution is designed for a wide variety of transported goods with different volumes and weights – a significant leap forward in the ability from selective to comprehensive conveying.
Among other things, the PPC transports components such as battery cells and electrical components, as well as Pack1.0, Pack2.0, and Pack3.0 storage units. The load capacity covers three weight classes: 1,500 kg, 3,000 kg, and 4,000 kg.
In view of this complex material handling situation, our sales expert Z. Shang explains: “Determining the most suitable conveyor system, handling a wide range of transport tasks and managing the extremely high loads, involved enormous challenges.” The logistical requirements were analyzed as early as the planning phase and, based on this, a concept was developed that ultimately resulted in the first KB240 heavy-duty rail conveyor system being implemented as a powered pallet conveyor.

The trusting cooperation and partnership-based relationship between our customer and ROFA CHINA were crucial to the successful realization of the project. Thanks to this close collaboration, ROFA CHINA was able to make valuable contributions to layout and technology planning as early as the sales phase, identify potential risks and uncontrollable factors at an early stage and proactively avoid them, as well as continuously monitor and analyze the design, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning processes.
The result is impressive: a cutting-edge, innovative dual-level heavy-duty powered pallet conveyor for different pallet sizes with an exceptionally high load capacity.
